Details

We stayed for one week at Jellystone Park in mid-July of 2017. The campground staff were friendly and helpful when placing our reservation and during check-in. We enjoyed our stay – as well as the mini-golf & seeing Yogi riding around the park. (We wonder, how many kids even know who Yogi Bear is, anymore?)

Cost

For seven nights at a 50 amp full hookup pull-thru site, we paid about $41 per night, including taxes. The park has weekly and monthly rates. The park did not charge a fee for pets or an extra vehicle.

Amenities On Site or Nearby

The campground offered many amenities, including full hookups, rental cabins, tent sites, camp store, laundry room, WiFi, restrooms and showers. Truck stop travel plazas are just up the road, while stores, restaurants, automotive and other services are nearby in Missoula.

Ratings (1-5)

Accessibility – 4/5

The campground is easily accessible from interstate I-90 via highway US-93. Lanes in the park are well-maintained asphalt. The park has pull-thru and back-in sites, as well as tent sites, and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

The campground offers many resort amenities, including full hookups, rental cabins, tent sites, overflow parking/camping meadow, game room, mini golf, adult lounge, horseshoes, basketball, swimming pool and wading/splash pool, laundry room, WiFi, dump station, restrooms and showers. (Oh, and don’t forget the nightly visits with Yogi Bear™!)

The park has a camp store with basic groceries, camp supplies, souvenirs and tourist information. The park also has an RV and boat storage yard. Truck stop travel plazas are just up the road, while grocery stores, restaurants, automotive and other services are nearby in Missoula.

Site quality – 3/5

RV sites are basic, including full or partial hookups with 50/30/20 amp electric. Sites are level, surfaced with gravel, and have a grassy median area with picnic table. Sites are wide enough to accommodate slide-outs and awnings, but otherwise have little separation between sites.

Scenic Value – 3/5

The campground is in a semi-rural area on the outskirts of Missoula with nice views of rolling grassy hills and distant mountain foothills.

Location/Isolation – 3/5

The campground is far enough back from US-93 and I-90 to generally be quiet. Sites are close enough together to feel cramped – especially at busiest times for the park.

Paws Friendliness – 3/5

The campground is pet friendly and has large grassy pet walk areas, but does not have an enclosed pet run or cleanup stations. The campground is large enough to get a decent walk with your pet.

Overall Rating – 3/5

Overall, the Jellystone Park campground is a nice family oriented place to stop while exploring around Missoula or just passing through the area. We wouldn’t mind visiting again when passing through the area.

Additional info

Internet access

We received a moderate to strong 4G Verizon signal at this campground. We did not need our cellular antenna and booster to improve MiFi hot spot internet access. The campground provided free WiFi, but we did not use this during our stay.

Water Quality

The water at this campground tested hard – we added our water softener to the water filtration stack.
