Details

We stayed for one week at the Boot Hill RV Resort in early November, 2019. Staff/owners were friendly and helpful during our stay.

Note that due to septic system concerns, the park discourages doing laundry in your RV – the park laundry room should be used, instead.

Cost

For seven-nights at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid about $27 per night, including tax and Good Sam discount. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle. The park has daily, weekly, and monthly rates.

Note that south-bound park entry or exit requires turning across a busy divided highway – traffic can be very heavy, depending on time of day.

The campground is utilitarian – essentially a large parking lot, but features some nice landscaping touches and has vistas of the Tularosa Basin, white sands dunes, and distant hills. Sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular here.

Location/Isolation – 3/5

The campground is fairly quiet, but can get some highway and railroad noise. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

The campground is pet friendly, with cleanup stations, pet walks, and two enclosed off-leash pet runs. Caution – this is a desert environment. Be mindful to provide shade and plenty of water for your pet, watch out for hot ground surfaces, and beware of desert critters.
