Ratings (1-5)

Accessibility – 3/5

The campground is easily accessible from the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 1) via paved roads. Lanes in the campground are reasonably well-maintained gravel – some potholes and rough areas need repair. The park has both pull-thru and back-in sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have few provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

The campground offers basic amenities, including full and partial hookup sites, rental cabins, group and tent sites, restrooms and showers, coin-op laundry, camp store, playground, arcade room, heated swimming pool, free WiFi (office area and limited sites), and cable TV (limited sites). Facilities were clean and in decent repair.

Site quality – 3/5

RV sites have full or partial (water/electric) hookups, cable TV (limited sites), WiFi (limited sites), fire ring and picnic table. Electric service is 30/20 amp. The campground has back-in and pull-thru sites. Sites are mostly level gravel, with shade and good separation between sites.

Scenic Value – 5/5

The park is nicely forested and has spectacular views of rugged mountains. The campground has many long-term stay sites – most are nicely maintained and landscaped (some with flower beds, decks & hot tubs!), but some look cluttered and trashy – detracting from the scenic vibe of the park.

Location/Isolation – 4/5

This peaceful, forested park has lovely mountain views and feels somewhat isolated. Sites have good separation. The park is generally quiet, but does get noise from highway, railroad, and low flying planes at times. Rail noise is not too bad as there is no crossing nearby where trains would sound horns.

Paws Friendliness – 3/5

The campground is pet friendly, but does not have an enclosed pet run or cleanup bag stations. The park is large enough for a decent walk with your pet.

Overall Rating – 4/5

Overall, the Hope Valley RV Park is a lovely place to stay while exploring the many attractions around Hope, BC. We enjoyed our stay here and would visit another time.

We received a weak to moderate 4G signal at this campground. Access was roaming, but did not cost extra with our Verizon Unlimited plan. High speed data usage throttled down after 500 Mb per device per day. The campground had free WiFi service, but was not accessible from our site.

Water Quality

The campground water tested soft – we did not add our water softener to the water filtration stack.
