Description

The Osage Prairie RV Park is a small, peaceful, well-maintained campground with the look and feel of a rustic frontier village. The park is conveniently located just off Interstate I-49 in Nevada, Missouri. This is a nice and relaxing place to stop while passing through the area.

Details

We stayed for two-nights at the Osage Prairie RV Park in mid October, 2019. The park manager was friendly at check-in.

Cost

For two-nights at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid about $36 per night including tax, Good Sam discount, and $1 per night extra vehicle charge. There were no extra fees for pets.

Accessibility – 4/5

The campground is easily accessible from Interstate I-49 and Highway US-54 via paved streets. Lanes in the park are well-maintained gravel. The park has pull-thru and back-in RV sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have some provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

The park amenities include full hookup 50 or 30 amp RV sites, tent area, restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, propane service, ice, firewood, gift shop, playground, mini golf, pavilion, club house, barn, horse corral, and seasonal swimming pool. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. No cable TV or available over-air channels.

Site quality – 4/5

RV sites are full hookup with 50 or 30 amp electric, Wi-Fi, and picnic table. Park sites are pull-thru or back-in, gravel, clean, and most have shade trees. The tent area is in a shady wooded area. Some sites are equipped with a grill box.

Scenic Value – 4/5

The campground buildings have a rustic frontier-vibe and the park grounds are nicely landscaped with grass, shade trees, and a forested area.

Location/Isolation – 4/5

The campground feels peaceful and relaxing, is fairly quiet, but can get some traffic noise. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

The campground is pet friendly, with cleanup stations and pet walk area. The campground is large enough for a fair walk with your pet.

Overall Rating – 4/5

Overall, the Vale Trails RV Park is a convenient place to stay while passing through the area. We enjoyed our short stay and would visit another time.

We received a moderate 4G Verizon signal at this campground. The campground provided free WiFi.

Water Quality

The water at this campground tested hard with a slight sulfurous smell.
