Description

River Reflections RV Resort & Campground is a lovely, peaceful, forested park on the beautiful shore of the Feather River, near Oroville, California. This quiet park is known as the “Gateway to the Salmon”, as Steelhead Salmon return to the area to spawn. Fishing, wildlife viewing, and boating/kayaking are popular local activities. This is a great park to relax at, enjoy a picnic by the river, and to use as a base to enjoy the many recreational opportunities in the area.

Details

We stayed at River Reflections RV Resort & Campground for two-nights in mid April, 2018. The park has Good Sam, AAA, AARP, and Military discounts. Staff was friendly when we placed our reservation and at check-in.

Cost

For two-nights at a 50 amp full hookup pull-thru site, we paid about $45 per night, including tax and Good Sam discount. There were no fees for an extra vehicle or pets.

Ratings (1-5)

Accessibility – 4/5

The campground is easily accessible via well-maintained paved roads. Lanes in the campground are reasonably well-maintained asphalt. The park has both pull-thru and back-in sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 4/5

The campground offers basic amenities, including full hookup sites, rental cabins, tent sites, restrooms and showers, and laundry room. The park also features a picnic area with a gazebos. Facilities were clean, but are showing wear and could use a renovation.

Site quality – 4/5

Sites have full hookups with 50/30/20 amp electric, WiFi, and a picnic table. Sites in several sections have concrete pads, while other areas are grass and dirt/gravel. There is fair separation between sites and most sites have shade trees. 

Scenic Value – 5/5

This is a lovely, peaceful, forested park is right on the scenic shore of the Feather River. An 11,000 acre wildlife preserve is just across the river from the campground. The park is in a lovely rural area of northern California, an area with hay fields, vineyards, olive orchards and rolling, grassy hills dotted with majestic live oak trees.

Location/Isolation – 4/5

The campground is in a quiet rural area right on the shore of the Feather River. The campground is generally quiet. The closeness of sites offsets the feeling of isolation.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

The campground is pet friendly, but does not have cleanup bag stations or an enclosed pet run. The park is large enough for a fair walk with your pet. Easy access to the Feather River is great for water-loving pets.

Overall Rating – 4/5

Overall, the River Reflections RV Resort & Campground campground is a beautiful place to stay near Oroville. We enjoy our stay here and would love to return for a longer visit.

Internet access

We received a moderate 4G Verizon signal at this campground. The campground has WiFi service, but we did not use it.

Water Quality

The water at this campground tested soft – we did not add our water softener to the water filtration stack.

Grocery stores, restaurants, and some automotive services are nearby in Oroville (3 miles). A wide range of shopping, dining, entertainment, automotive and RV services are available in Sacramento (66 miles).
