Description

The Vale Trails RV Park is a small, basic, quiet, and well-maintained campground conveniently located near the junction of US-20 and US-26 in Vale, Oregon. The park is also close to Interstate 84. The park is a good place to stop while passing through this area of eastern Oregon.

Details

We stayed for one night at the Vale Trails RV Park in mid August, 2019. The park manager was friendly at check-in.

Cost

For one night at a 50 amp full hookup gravel pull-thru site, we paid $42. There were no additional fees for pets or an extra vehicle.

Accessibility – 3/5

The campground is easily accessible from US-26 via paved streets. Lanes in the park are reasonably well-maintained gravel. The park has pull-thru RV sites and can accommodate large rigs. The campground facilities have some provisions for Universal access.

Facilities/Amenities – 3/5

The park amenities include full hookup 50/30 amp RV sites, tent area, restrooms, showers, laundry, Wi-Fi, cable TV, propane service, small camp store with ice and RV parts, U Haul rentals, dog grooming service, and a pet run. Facilities are clean, reasonably well-maintained, but could use renovation. The park features a nice mural on the bathhouse and other nice landscaping touches.

Site quality – 3/5

RV sites are full hookup with 50/30 amp electric, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. Park sites are pull-thru, gravel, clean, and most have shade trees. The tent area is on a grassy lawn.

Scenic Value – 3/5

The campground is very basic and utilitarian, but features some nice landscaping touches. The park is near a railroad spur, livestock yard, and other agricultural or light-industry properties.

Location/Isolation – 3/5

The campground is fairly quiet, but can get some rail or truck traffic noise. Sites are fair sized and do not feel crowded.

Paws Friendliness – 4/5

The campground is pet friendly, with cleanup stations and an enclosed off-leash pet run. The park offers a pet grooming service by appointment. The campground is small and may take several laps for a fair walk with your pet.

Overall Rating – 3/5

Overall, the Vale Trails RV Park is a convenient place to stay while passing through the area. We enjoyed our short stay and would visit another time.

We received a moderate 4G Verizon signal at this campground. The campground provided free WiFi.
