The Bellingham / Lynden KOA is a beautifully landscaped campground set amidst the spectacular scenery of northern Washington. The park is close to old town Lynden with its historic buildings, windmills, specialty shops, and Pioneer Museum commemorating the area’s Dutch heritage. The park is conveniently located just a short distance from two US/Canada border crossings. This KOA is a peaceful and relaxing place to stop while visiting the area.
Emigrant Lake County Recreation Area is a lovely Jackson County park on the Emigrant Lake reservoir located near Ashland, Oregon, at the southern end of the scenic Rogue Valley. This popular park has sweeping vistas of Emigrant Lake, rugged mountains, and rolling, grassy, oak-dotted hills. The park has several campgrounds, including The Point RV Campground, Oak Slope Campground, and a group campground. The park features picnic areas, a water park, and many fun activities like biking, running, boating, and fishing. This is a great park to relax at or to use as a base to explore the many recreation, arts, and entertainment offerings of the Rogue Valley.
River Reflections RV Resort & Campground is a lovely, peaceful, forested park on the beautiful shore of the Feather River, near Oroville, California. This quiet park is known as the “Gateway to the Salmon”, as Steelhead Salmon return to the area to spawn. Fishing, wildlife viewing, and boating/kayaking are popular local activities. This is a great park to relax at, enjoy a picnic by the river, and to use as a base to enjoy the many recreational opportunities in the area.
DescriptionBakersfield River Run RV Park is a nicely landscaped, relaxing, big rig friendly, Good Sam campground in central Bakersfield, California. The park is easily accessed from Highway 99 and the Rosedale Highway and is near many interesting shopping, recreation, and entertainment venues. The park makes a great place to stay while traveling through the area or for a longer visit to Bakersfield.
As we said farewell to Valdez, we began our long trip back to the lower 48 states. We have many fond memories of our stay in Alaska, as well as from the journey to get there. We had another glorious sunny day to begin our trip and to enjoy the mountain splendor, glaciers and waterfalls along the Richardson Highway.

DescriptionMountain Shadow RV Park is a gem of a campground in a remote, forested area about 2 miles from Iskut, British Columbia, Canada. The park is just off the spectacular Cassiar Highway about half way between Stewart/Hyder, BC/AK and Watson Lake, YT. The park has spectacular views of rolling meadow, forested hills and rugged mountains. This is a lovely and relaxing place to stop while travelling the Cassiar Highway and from which to explore the Iskut Valley, the “Resort Capital of Northwest BC”.
